Budd's Consulting Ltd.
Budd has worked in the oilfield industry for 29 years. After graduation in 1972 he started with J&A Trucking driving single axle tank trucks and quickly learned to drive vacuum trucks on rig jobs and he was training new drivers as the company grew so quickly.
In 1974 he started with M&R Trucking as a swamper, with the gift of always wanting to learn he quickly climbed the ladder and was soon driving all equipment from pole trucks to bed trucks & tractors. In 1982 he went into the off road division driving commanders and nod wells during the high season. In the off-season he pushed rig moves or drove a bed truck. In 1984 he was dispatching and manager of the Red Deer division for M&R Trucking until they sold in 1986.
In 1986 he bought a tank truck & pup and dispatched for Baumann Trucking until it sold in 1988.
He then went in to the anchor business as part owner operator for Anchor Bandits, which also had bed trucks for moving service rigs and installed the anchors with nodwells, until it sold in 1993.
From 1993 to 1998 he was manager for Caprice Holdings Inc.In the Custom Treating, Water Disposal & Waste Management plants at Edson & Drayton Valley until it was taken over by Canadian Crude Separators Inc.in this position he was responsible for all phases of it's operations from a 25 man crew to wide variety of equipment from pumps to tanks & treaters back-hoe, cats, filter presses vacuum trucks, all terrain equipment.
Although he did enjoy this he was always wanting to go back to his passion of the Drilling Rigs & The Rig Moving Equipment, because he had not been in it for a few years he decided to go back at the middle entry so he drove big bed for Swanberg Trucking in Fort St.John until he was approached by Brian Baumann to come and try this aspect of the Industry in March 2001.
